Hold My Pickle
Published by Clarksburg Labs Inc.. Last updated October 2, 2026.
Hold My Pickle is two things: an iPhone and iPad app, and a text service that runs one Friday pickleball group. They collect very different amounts of data, so this page covers them separately.
The iPhone and iPad app
The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking, and it makes no network requests of its own. The sessions, players, matches, and scores you enter are stored on your device. If iCloud is on, iOS also copies that file to your own iCloud account so it syncs between your devices. Clarksburg Labs Inc. never receives this data.
To delete it, delete the sessions and players in the app, or delete the app. Data synced to iCloud can be removed in Settings, under your name, iCloud, Manage Storage.
The club text service: what we store
Members of the Friday group sign up and RSVP by text, and the organizers run the group from a web console. For each player, the service stores:
- Your name and mobile number, and whether you are a member, an organizer, or opted out.
- The full text of every message you send to the group's number and every message it sends you, with the delivery status Telnyx reports.
- Your RSVPs, waitlist place, attendance, skill rating and its history, and fees owed and paid.
- Notes and tags an organizer adds to your record, such as when you can play.
- If you bring a guest, the name you give for them, and their number if you give one.
- A change log of player records. It keeps a copy of a record before and after each change, including name and number, so mistakes can be traced and undone.
If someone who isn't on the roster texts the number, we store that text, reply once, and send the organizers the number and the first 100 characters of the message so they can add the person or ignore it.
How we use it
We use this only to run the group: rosters, waitlists, reminders, balanced games, and fees. Ratings are visible only to organizers. The public roster shows first names only, never phone numbers or ratings. We don't sell or share your number, and we don't use it for marketing.
Two companies process this data for us. Telnyx sends and receives the texts. Railway hosts the service and its database. They process it only to deliver the service.
Organizer sign-in and this website
Organizers sign in to the console with a code texted to their phone. Signing in sets one cookie, hmp_admin, which keeps them signed in for 30 days. To limit sign-in attempts to 20 an hour, the service counts requests by IP address in memory and does not save them. Railway's request logs may record the IP address of any visit to this site. Public pages, including this one, set no cookies and run no analytics.
How long we keep it
Texts are deleted 12 months after they are sent or received. Sign-in codes are deleted after one day. The rest of your record stays while you are part of the group, so attendance and fees add up across seasons.
Reply STOP to stop all texts. Your record stays, but nothing more is sent until you reply START.
Deleting your records
Email us or ask an organizer. We erase your name, number, texts, RSVPs, rating history, organizer notes, the names of guests you brought, and the change-log entries that held any of these. Charges and payments stay without your name, so the group's books still balance. Copies in Railway's database backups are removed when those backups expire.
